Why “Therapy Sofa”?

I would like psychotherapy to be something simple. Something as simple as sitting on your couch, in the safety and comfort of your own home, talking with a person you trust, about your deepest concerns.

This is what the psychotherapy room is for me. A space of safety, comfort and trust, in which people can feel accepted, free to express their thoughts and feelings and are able to build healthy relationships with others, with me and -most importantly- with themselves.

Services

Specialized counselling and psychotherapy treatment plans online or in person.

Individual Counseling and Psychotherapy

Sometimes we are going through a difficult time, or we may even feel stuck in life. Psychotherapy can give us that push we need and help put our pieces back in place.

Couples Therapy

A couple in distress can benefit from therapy by practicing empathy, developing healthier communication styles, identifying roles and changing dysfunctional patterns.

Greeks living abroad

Living abroad comes with challenges. Finding a psychologist that speaks your language, should not be one of them.

International Students Counseling

Meeting new people, getting accustomed to another way of life, away from family and friends can get overwhelming. Counselling can be a huge support during this interesting journey and it is important to have access to this support easy and affordably.

Online Psychotherapy

I would like to make your path to psychotherapy easier. Online sessions can be just as effective as in-person sessions.

First consultation free of charge

I like to offer my clients the option of a first 15-minutes online meeting free of charge. This helps both of us to have a first impression of the person we are talking with and to gather some basic information.

Sessions & FAQs

Unsure about deciding to visit a psychologist? Here you will find answers to the most common questions, as well as more information about the services I provide.

Sessions & FAQs
What should I expect in the first session?

In our first session we get to know each other. I want to know who you are, how your life looks like, what makes you excited, what brings you here. I will also collect some basic information about you so that I can begin to get to know you better and easily understand your frame of reference as we work together. I will also explain to you how I work, who I am and how I can support you.

Are the sessions online or face-to-face?

Sessions take place both online and in person. This is depending on the needs and after communication with the therapist.

For how long should I visit a psychologist?
There is not actually a specific time frame. The number of sessions depends on the complexity of the issue and the needs of each person. That is why there is brief psychotherapy/counseling, which consists of a number of 8-10 sessions, and long-term psychotherapy, which can last from months to years!

o, the simple answer is “for as long as you want”! It is of course always important to discuss with your therapist and agree on a common plan together.
Personally, I ask people who come to my practice to discuss openly about their needs and concerns and to let me know when they wish to complete their treatment cycle so that we can have a final session as a closure.
