Sessions & FAQs

Unsure about deciding to visit a psychologist? Here you will find answers to the most common questions, as well as more information about the services I provide.

Sessions & FAQs
What should I expect in the first session?

In our first session we get to know each other. I want to know who you are, how your life looks like, what makes you excited, what brings you here. I will also collect some basic information about you so that I can begin to get to know you better and easily understand your frame of reference as we work together. I will also explain to you how I work, who I am and how I can support you.

Are the sessions online or face-to-face?

Sessions take place both online and in person. This is depending on the needs and after communication with the therapist.

For how long should I visit a psychologist?
There is not actually a specific time frame. The number of sessions depends on the complexity of the issue and the needs of each person. That is why there is brief psychotherapy/counseling, which consists of a number of 8-10 sessions, and long-term psychotherapy, which can last from months to years!

o, the simple answer is “for as long as you want”! It is of course always important to discuss with your therapist and agree on a common plan together.
Personally, I ask people who come to my practice to discuss openly about their needs and concerns and to let me know when they wish to complete their treatment cycle so that we can have a final session as a closure.

How often should I visit my psychologist?
They last 50 minutes, except for couple sessions which last 75 minutes.
The frequency of the sessions varies, is dependent on the complexity of the issue and the needs of every person, and is jointly decided by the therapist and the patient.
